Rhondda Rotary held its seventh annual Charity Lunch at Llanerch Vineyard on Friday 10th May, attended by 90 guests. The aim being to raise money to support local Dementia Groups and those living with dementia in our Valley communities and other organisations. The guests enjoyed a lovely three course lunch, some fun items and a raffle, which raised welcome funds. They were entertained by compere Bob Harris and the guest speaker Phil Steele, presenter, commentator and journalist, who treated the guests to some both interesting and funny stories from his playing, teaching and presenting career. A surprise Rotary Service Recognition Award was presented to Bryan James, current President and former player and Secretary of Treorchy Rugby Club, for his 60 years plus service to the Club.
Thanks to Llanerch Vineyard for hosting the lunch once again, to those businesses that sponsored adverts in the lunch programme, to the Events Room, who ran the Silent Auction and most importantly to the guests for attending. A great afternoon was had by all in the sunshine at a fabulous venue.
