Rhondda Rotary held its sixth annual Charity Lunch at Llanerch Vineyard on Friday 12th May, attended by over 100 guests. The aim being to raise money to support local Dementia Groups and those living with dementia in our Valley communities and other organisations. The guests enjoyed a lovely three course lunch, some fun items and an auction and raffle, which raised welcome funds. They were entertained by compere Bob Harris and the guest speaker Ryan Jones, former British Lion and Wales and Ospreys captain and three times Grand Slam winner. He gave a frank and honest talk on his diagnosis and living with early onset dementia and then treated the guests to some both interesting and funny stories from his playing career, which kept everyone fully entertained. A standing ovation was a just reward for such a great speaker.
Thanks to those who sponsored adverts in the lunch programme, to the businesses and individuals and the Events Room, who kindly donated items for the auctions and most importantly to the guests for attending. A great afternoon was had by all in the sunshine at a fabulous venue.
