Entries are now invited from budding photographers and writers for the following Rotary competitions.
Rotary GB&I Young Photographer
The digital camera has revolutionised the photographic world with instant results and the end of the concept that the camera never lies. As a talent, and an art form, Rotary GB&I celebrates the photographic skills of thousands of young people with a sequence of competitions that give them the chance to demonstrate and display just what they can produce. Each year, we see more and more entries for Rotary GB&I Young Photographer, each submitting a portfolio of photographs into the final
The task is to produce a photograph based upon the theme, “Wonderful Water” in colour or black and white on photographic paper. Prints to be submitted separately including digital copies. Each print, including any mount should be no larger than A4 size.
The competition is open to all young people up to the age of 17 (as at 31st August 2024), in three different age categories. For a full information pack and entry form, please email ypc.rhonddarotary@gmail.com
Rotary GB&I Young Writer
Creative writing is a talent to be celebrated and to be able to write is a special gift. In Great Britain and Ireland there are young people who have, or have the ability to develop, this talent and Rotary wishes to promote writing through the Rotary GB&I Young Writer competition. Starting with club level competitions, winners progress to district events and, ultimately, a national final with the winning work subsequently published in Rotary magazines and on this website. The quality of work submitted in previous years has been outstanding
The task is to produce a hand written or typed story in prose entitled “Wonderful Water”.
The written entry could be fiction or non-fiction, a story or a poem, as long as the piece relates to the theme. An A4 page or up to 550 words is a suggested suitable submission.
The competition is open to all young people up to the age of 17 (as at 31st August 2024), in three different age categories. For a full information pack and entry form, please email ywc.rhonddarotary@gmail.com
